When your patient is unstable and moments count, please call us at 604.473.4882 when the patient is on its way or speak to the doctor on duty in the ER + Critical Care Service. The referral form can be sent as soon as reasonably practical thereafter.

The ER+ Critical Care Service often manages emergencies, unstable or non scheduled referral cases. Your patient can then be transferred or referred to the appropriate specialty services after this initial admission.

Next available: Patient is stable and can be seen in the next week or two
Urgent: Patient should be seen in the next 24-48 hours
Emergency: Patient needs to be seen within a few hours

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call. If a doctor is not available to take your call, a member of that service may be able to answer your questions. If not, a doctor will call you back.
