About Canada West
Canada West Veterinary Specialists is a full-service veterinary hospital providing specialist veterinary care. Our hospital functions similar to a large full-service human hospital. We accept referrals from family veterinarians based throughout British Columbia, Alaska, and the Yukon. We have several departments and a large team of veterinary specialists.

Our primary goal is to provide optimal medical, surgical, and rehabilitation support and care to our patients, fostering the bonds between owners and their pets and between ourselves and our referring clinicians.
Canada West has pioneered the provision in Canada of multi-disciplinary veterinary specialist care combined with a dedicated 24 hour hospital facility that is supervised by critical care specialists.
We have operated since 1997 and have steadily grown to our current staff complement of approximately 150 individuals.

Our team and hospital have a number of unique differentiators:
- The only clinician in Canada who is board-certified in both Neurology and in Surgery;
- Board-certified veterinary technicians in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine and Emergency & Critical Care;
- Three specialists who have board-certification in both European and American specialty colleges; and
- The only veterinary hospital in Canada offering hemodialysis and plasmapheresis.
- We are the largest veterinary referral hospital in Metro Vancouver;
- We have one of the few in-house MRIs for veterinary use in Western Canada;
